Air Hygiene & Ventilation Cleaning

“Vantage recently cleaned the duct work in our extraction
and supply system. I must say I was highly impressed with
the standard of their work as well as with their professionalism and courteous behaviour. They showed a real understanding for the needs of our ‘sensitive areas’, didn’t get in the way and cleaned up after themselves. Simply put, they were easy to have around. What’s more, they were highly competitive
on price!”

Gary Turner, North Hampshire NHS Trust

Over time ventilation systems inevitably build up with all types of contaminant which could affect air quality in the workplace, from simple household-type dust to fungal and bacterial colonisation. A Vantage Air Hygiene Programme will significantly improve the performance of any system and the cleanliness of the air you breathe.

What is an air hygiene programme?
An Air Hygiene Programme includes a thorough air hygiene risk assessment using microbiological swabs (independently analysed by Cavendish Laboratories), a ventilation ducting clean using the latest rotary shafts and brushes, disinfection as required, and ongoing monitoring and maintenance cleans of AHUs (Air Handling Units)..

Why should I have my ventilation system cleaned?

  • To comply with Health and Safety legislation.
  • To eliminate microbiological contamination.
  • To eliminate fire risk.
  • To maintain ventilation efficiency.
  • To avoid expensive material erosion.
  • To provide safe and comfortable working conditions.

The 1992 Health & Safety at Work Act covers ventilation and air quality and is very specific in its requirements, as is the draft EU standard on Cleanliness of Ventilation Systems (prEN 15780). It is therefore imperative for all air supply and extraction systems to be monitored and serviced regularly to ensure maximum protection and optimum effectiveness, and to comply with the law.

Who should comply?
Anyone responsible for managing a building’s ventilation system should comply. Inspection, testing and maintenance of all ventilation systems must be carried out at regular intervals, as stated in the Health & Safety at Work Act and impending European legislation.
